Young permaculture-minded couple seeking a place to put down roots long-term. Chris works full-time as a carpenter’s apprentice with some landscaping and irrigation work on the side. Anna Maria works in organic land care and teaches permaculture gardening at Pacific Rim College. Chris is in an Ecological Restoration program at UVic, and Anna Maria is starting a diploma in Organic Land Care through Gaia College. We would love to find somewhere with a garden space or potential garden space that we can contribute to. Our dream involves planting a food forest / demonstration site to be able to host workshops and courses. (Although this isn’t necessary for our current place) We have a particular interest in future-proofing through rainwater harvesting, fireproofing, restoring groundwater reserves, and building healthy soil. We spend our time reading, gardening, kayaking, camping, and learning new things. Chris is in an active local band, and Anna Maria creates beaded mala necklaces which she sells on Etsy. We would be open to making an arrangement with you to help caretake your land/property in exchange for reduced rent if that interests you. We are very chill, quiet, & respectful tenants. Anna Maria is healing from Lyme disease so it’s very important to us to maintain a peaceful home space. 
 We are hoping to find somewhere for Oct 15 or Nov 1. Ideally we would like to be within an hour from Victoria, especially interested in the Saanich peninsula (up to North Saanich), Highlands, Metchosin, near Elk Lake, and surrounding areas. We don’t want to be right downtown but would be happy with a neighbourhood like Fernwood, Oak Bay, James Bay, Oaklands, or others. Our ideal place would be under $1400/month. We don’t currently have pets but would like to get a cat if the space allows. We look forward to hearing from you!
