Polyphonic guitar effects pedal. Requires Roland GK-3 hexaphonic pickup. The idea behind the VG8 is to collect the raw vibrations from the guitar strings using a Roland GK-3 split pickup (one tiny pickup for each of the 6 strings), then use DSP processing to emulate all the other links in the chain, right through to the recording microphone. This includes emulation of different kinds of guitars including Stat and Les Paul. Built-in reverb, chorus, all the juicy stuff. Capable of pitch shifting and harmonizing of each string individually to emulate a bass or a 12-string. Since each string is processed separately, you can get it to sound as though your guitar is giant, with each string occupying its own space in the stereo field. Also can warp your guitar's sound into something truly otherworldly. (This was groundbreaking for its day.) Sounds best through a clean amp or stereo system. Come and try it out!
