We are a small accounting firm located in Victoria, BC looking for a part-time tax reviewer and bookkeeper to assist with filing personal and small business returns. We are looking for someone to start as soon as possible. Hours are flexible, 2 – 3 days per week, but may increase if needed/desired. Wages are dependent on experience. Tax duties include: • Reviewing and filing T1 and some T3 returns • Reviewing and organising tax slips & receipts for input • Preparing all required schedules • Corresponding with clients & with the CRA • Handling CRA reviews & small audits on behalf of clients, and submitting documents to CRA as required • Providing some training to hired coop students if/when required Additional bookkeeping duties could include: • All internal bookkeeping • Preparing and filing GST & payroll • Accounts Payable & Receivable • Bank accounts reconciliation (General & Trust accounts) Qualifications: • Knowledge and experience with tax preparation and e-filing software (e.g., TaxCycle) • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Familiarity with Sage and QuickBooks Online • Previous tax or bookkeeping experience is required Please email your resume and cover letter to general@shipleygroup.ca.
