UsedVictoria.com is working with Flower Count and its partners in order to encourage citizens of Greater Victoria to get out and count the flowers! The Flower Count is an annual lighthearted promotion run by Black Press, Tourism Victoria, The Butchart Gardens, Gardens BC, The Chamber, UsedVictoria.com, The Ocean and CHEK News every March. While other parts of Canada are digging themselves out of snow banks, Victoria is lucky enough to have the most temperate climate in Canada. We like to share our fortunes with the rest of Canada by showing them just how many flowers we have - literally. The tradition started in the 1960s' when, in order to promote tourism in Victoria, daffodils were handed out in cities such as Calgary, Winnipeg, and Edmonton. Citizens were encouraged to count flowers back home in Victoria at the same time, and the Flower Count began. For more information, please visit: www.flowercount.com.
