It is a retelling of The Nutcracker story and many of the pages have a lovely window effect with moving figures, so, for example, you have the Nutcracker fighting the King Rat on one page, with swords drawn. There are no tabs to pull, so it is lovely for younger children and the story is delightful to read aloud. This would make a beautiful gift.
