This is a bit of a strange piece to try and classify or value- I am calling it Folk-Art at this point for lack of a better class, its been in to a few professionals for evaluation-they all have basically said that it has all the right things going for it. It is a short, hand penned and hand bound romance tale about 2 women named Rose, each coming from a different class, and of course a man in love with one or both of them, or something like that. The wording is old school and it was difficult to follow completely, besides I read it years ago! Its been in a bank-note casing since- stored in my safe for a number of years and now sitting in a lock box getting older by the day.
I bought this and a bunch of other antique stuff a long while back in an estate lot- it has been well kept for such an old piece and is still very much readable and able to be handled. The booklet is signed and dated Nov 14 1886, author signed F Lras. I tried to find out any info about the author some years back but came up with nothing at that time. Hints in the story itself indicate it takes place in England somewhere I thought, but was many years ago I tried to do all this research!
I would like to sell- would make a great piece for a wall or even a coffee-table conversation piece, or of course to a collector of old documents. Reasonable offers will be considered, located near downtown.
