World Suicide Prevention Day is September 10th. On that day, events will take place across Canada and around the world to break the silence about suicide and to increase public awareness and involvement in this important public health issue.
In Victoria, several events will take place to mark Suicide Awareness Week ? September 7-13th. The week concludes with a Gathering of Hope and Healing hosted by the Need Crisis and Information Line on September 13th from 2-4 p.m. at the University of Victoria?s Interfaith Chapel. This ceremony of remembrance is intended to remember those who have died from suicide and to provide comfort to those affected by suicide. Information about community resources will also be available.
