I have a young adult ball python (approx 1 year old). s/he is currently eating half grown (live) rats. He has been living in a large tank for the last month, we had just moved him into the large tank but now require the tank for something else and therefore have to get rid of him (I am unsure of gender, but we've been calling it a him and have named him Piper). This means, unfortunately, that we will be keeping the large tank he is in but have a smaller tank that we can include with a home made tank cover (which must be weighted down - we used a couple of telephone/textbooks to do this). However the small tank should only be a temporary solution until a larger tank can be purchased as he will outgrow it in no time (he is in a period of very rapid growth). The tank has an undertank heater attached to it for night time heat.
He is a timid snake but will sit on your lap and explore when you take him out. He has been handled well and is used to humans (we have had him since he was a baby).
