The Baby Bjorn Air Carrier helps wick away heat and moisture from your baby. As with the other BABYBJÖRN® Baby Carriers, you can use it for newborns (minimum 8 lbs), with the safety strap fastened. Older babies who can hold their heads up may be carried facing forward. I bought this last summer when we had the hot spell because I didn't want my baby to overheat in the regular black bjorn that I have it was only used for a couple months last summer, it looks brand new. TJ's has them on sale for $150
