An interesting and rare historical set of original lantern slides documenting the work of an international team of Gospel missionaries from the New Testament Ministries Unlimited working in South America during the 1930's.. The Founders: John Hay (1863 - 1943) HayphotoMargaret Elizabeth Hay (1865 - 1949) John, born in Glasgow, Scotland, was converted to a personal knowledge of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, when he was 21. When 29, he strongly sensed the Lord of the harvest calling him to be a missionary to the Paraguayan Indians. He had training under Dr. H. Gratton Guinness, and then he and wife Margaret were ready to sail for inland South America. For ten years they worked with the South American Missionary Society. However, their 'burden' for the hundreds of thousands of indigenous people was not lightened, rather it increased. The Indians were not being reached as had been hoped. As John and Margaret prayed, they sensed that God was leading and encouraging them to start a new work, to found a new mission. The colour slides measure 3.25" x 4". A few of them have some cracks. The individual on the right of the black & white slide is Alex Hay, son of the original founder. Located on Salt Spring Island BC. Sorry, no delivery.
