We are looking for a detail oriented, organized self starter with exceptional people skills to join our Management Team. This position requires a dynamic leader in a Four or Five Diamond full service property. The Senior Sales Manager will be responsible for overseeing the Sales & Catering department and additional revenue generating efforts within the hotel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Assist General Manager and Revenue Manager in setting and evaluating hotel revenue targets
* Develop and implement sales strategies for hotel room inventory, meeting space and other revenue streams, including core programming
* Prepare budget & forecast for Sales Department
* Create sales plans monthly, quarterly and annually
* Provide leadership to Sales & Catering team to ensure effective account management and superior client service
* Develop, energizes, and mentor a motivated, competent and cohesive team
* Build strategic relationships with clients and partners
* Target, solicit and penetrate new and existing accounts
* Drive and monitor sales initiatives through personal sales calls, cold calls, trade shows, site tours, meetings and FAM?s
* Participate in sales activities both on and off property; including participation in regional and local Tourism Partnerships, Associations, selected conventions and promotional events
QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelors Degree and/or Hotel Management Degree or Diploma
* 5 years hotel sales experience with at least two years as a Senior Sales Manager
* Computer literacy in Microsoft programs and experience with a hotel reservation software system required
* Must be a proven and effective leader, possessing a high degree of professionalism, sound human resources and administrative skills
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and strengths in innovation, energy, and results-orientation
