1801 Napoleonic Medal - Very Rare - $150 OBO

Description This medal was issued to commemorate the installation of Louis, Duke of Parma, as King of Etruria in 1801 (Bramsen 152). Napoleon had deposed the Grand Duke of Tuscany, Ferdinand III, and had renamed the Grand Duchy of Tuscany as the Kingdom of Etruria. The inscription on the obverse of the medal is dedicated to the new king of Etruria ('Au roi d'Etrurie) and the reverse of the medal names his wife, Marie Louise Josephine.

Excellent condition. Valued up to $300.
