A very finely rendered vintage Petite Pointe or Embroidered Tapestry version of the famous French painting done in 1857 by Jean-Francois Millet's painting of 'The Gleaners' , portraying harvest time in the olden golden days of yore near the village of Barbizon , on the edge of Fontainbleau Forest on the outskirts of Paris .~ and long before hot showers were available at the end of a prickly day of hard labor ! The original Gobelin Needlepoint kit to make this picture was $60 , and must have taken hours of Great Grandma's painstaking labor . Created on 14 mesh Penelope Canvas , and measures 2' 2" by 1' 8" .
